Suja is a village located in the Begusarai district of Bihar. It comprises a multi-caste population, including a significant section of socially and economically marginalized people.

The Centre for Study of Democracy and Culture (CSDC) has been conducting a multi-layered survey in Suja to understand the social and economic challenges faced by the residents. Special attention has been given to Ward -16 of Suja Village, where the deprived communities face severe inadequacies in basic amenities necessary for a dignified life. These include the lack of proper housing, toilets, and community infrastructure such as halls and places for social gatherings.

While some initiatives by the central government have helped provide basic facilities, many gaps still remain. In response, CSDC has been actively working to support these communities by facilitating the construction of essential amenities like community halls, toilets, and places of worship etc.
